Favorite Park: Magic Kingdom in WDW. I love Magic Kingdom because it’s the park most people think of when they hear the word “Disney.” That’s because it is geared toward the kid in all of us-the kid who enjoys the occasional (or not so occasional in my case) fairy tale. The best thing about Magic Kingdom is that it has a LOT of rides and attractions. Pretty much everything you could want is found in Magic Kingdom. The park is also split into different “lands” (Adventureland, Frontierland, Fantasyland, and Tomorrowland) that are all different and unique. There is something for everyone to enjoy at Magic Kingdom!
Favorite Show: World of Color in Disneyland. I will be posting a blog all about Disneyland later on, but for now, my favorite show is World of Color. World of Color is the nighttime show to end the day at California Adventure park in Disneyland. It is a water show, complete with music and some of your favorite Disney scenes projected onto a wall of water and lights. I love this show because it was very long, it had lots of my favorite songs, and it was just pure Disney magic! If you can only do one thing on your day at California Adventure, make SURE you see World of Color. I guarantee everyone will love it as much as I do!
Favorite ride: I have many, many favorite rides. There is no way I could narrow it down to just one so I will list a few that are my favorites. In Magic Kingdom, I definitely like Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, and the Seven Dwarves Mine Train. These are three of the “bigger” rides at the park. The Seven Dwarves Mine Train is new and is one of the smoothest roller coasters you’ll ever ride! Splash Mountain is a favorite for many people, not only do I love the music and the thrilling “drop” but I love that it is a water ride. My family doesn’t always enjoy getting wet, but it’s fun to see who will end up getting the most wet by the end. My boyfriend has a knack for getting the wettest on every water ride we go on! And lastly, Big Thunder Mountain is the wildest ride in the wilderness! It’s pretty long for a roller coaster, which is one of the reasons I love it so much. You never know which direction you will go next so it is definitely a thrill! In the other parks, I definitely love Tower of Terror and Toy Story Mania the best. Tower of Terror is one of those rides that scares me a bit no matter how many times I ride, which is why it’s so awesome! It’s drops are different for every ride so it’s unpredictable! Toy Story Mania is a 3D shooting gallery style game that is fun for everyone. I never do very well, especially compared to my video-game-loving brother, but I still enjoy it!
Favorite snack: Dole Whip. There are a few variations and flavors of Dole Whip, but my favorite is the pineapple flavored soft serve. Ice cream is my favorite kind of dessert anyway, but I love this pineapple flavored treat! It’s definitely a taste of the islands. You can find it in Magic Kingdom in Adventureland. Make sure you try it before you leave the park!
Favorite restaurant: Bengal BBQ in Disneyland. In Disneyland’s Magic Kingdom, we discovered my favorite park restaurant. It’s called Bengal Barbeque! They have chicken and beef kabobs. They are absolutely delicious! They also have a special bread called “Tiger Tails.” I definitely recommend it if you get a chance to go!
Favorite princess: Anna from Frozen. Anna is bubbly, fun, and sweet. She is feisty but also kind and I like that about her! I really like her outfits as well. Singing Love is An Open Door and For The First Time In Forever is always fun for me! I’ve even Disneybounded as Anna. (See my post in the Disneybound tab for pictures)
Favorite character: Lilo from Lilo and Stitch. I debated a lot between Lilo and Stitch as my favorite. But I do really love Lilo! As a teacher, I tend to lean towards the little kids as my favorite characters. (Russell from Up is another favorite of mine) I love her Hawaiian home, her hula dancing, and her imaginative attitude. Her monologue about Pudge the fish is recited a lot at my house. She’s another one of my favorite Disneybounds!
Favorite soundtrack: It’s a tie between Aladdin and The Princess and the Frog. Aladdin’s songs are some of my favorites to sing along to. I love the fast pace of Friend Like Me and Prince Ali, and A Whole New World is one of the best Disney duets! As for The Princess and the Frog, I love the New Orleans jazz theme throughout. I love jamming to this soundtrack in the car.
Favorite movie: Tangled. Rapunzel and Flynn are one of my favorite Disney couples. It probably doesn’t hurt that Zachary Levi is the voice of Flynn and he’s also the star of the TV show, Chuck, which I enjoy. The lantern scene is the prettiest scene in any Disney movie in my opinion!
Favorite park moment: I changed it up from Emma’s post about favorite trip because all my trips are too close to choose from. My favorite park moment by far was when I was “part” of the Laugh Floor show in Magic Kingdom. Two of my best friends had come to Disney World with my family to celebrate our recent high school graduation. Their names are Katie and Anna. Now if you know Katie, you know that she is VERY fun to mess with and play jokes on. She had never done the Laugh Floor before, but the basic premise is that the monsters choose people from the audience and speak to them and basically embarrass them as much as they can. I convinced the girls to all wear our graduation Mickey ears during the show in an attempt to get us noticed. I also strategically placed Katie in the middle, thinking they would pick her. My plan somewhat backfired and Anna was chosen instead because she was sitting at the end of the row. The monster asked Anna why we all had these strange ears on. She explained that we were high school graduates. The monster asked Anna what she was going to major in in college. Anna said “Advertising??” in an unsure voice. The monster responded “Are you ASKING ME??” Then the monster moved down the row to Katie. He asked again what she was going to major in. Katie responded with “Graphic design???” in the same unsure tone, if not MORE unsure than Anna. The monster again responded “ARE YOU ASKING ME?????” Finally, the monster moved down to me. He said “Same thing to you but DON’T PHRASE IT LIKE A QUESTION!!” So I screamed as loud and confident and statement-like as I could, “ELEMENTARY EDUCATION!” and everyone clapped that I didn’t say it like a question. Definitely my favorite park moment!
